Idris Patel founded Supporting Humanity charity in 2020, driven by a passion for improving the lives of others. Initially focused on providing burial and bereavement services, he also offered mental wellbeing support for those experiencing loss. As the charity grew, he expanded its reach to include a variety of vital services.
With a background as a Product Manager at BT and extensive experience in the NHS, Idris combines his professional expertise with a heartfelt commitment to community support. His infectious enthusiasm has propelled the charity’s impactful work in a short time.
Idris serves on various boards and holds trustee roles, including:
- Patel Burial Muslim Trust
- Newham Mental Health Partnership Board (Non-Executive Role)
- Bart’s Health Faith Forum
- Leicester Riots (Chair, fostering dialogue between communities and law enforcement)
- Newham Muslim Safety Forum
- Redbridge Safety Forum
Additionally, Idris is a qualified coach, working with individuals in diverse sporting environments, including those with special needs. His dedication to bringing joy to others continues to inspire positive change in the community.
Idris is also committed to continuous education, having recently completed courses such as The Menopause Journey: Embracing the Transition With Confidence, along with certifications in mental health and suicide prevention. This dedication to learning enhances his ability to mentor and counsel individuals facing various challenges.
His passion for helping others makes him a respected figure in both local and wider circles, driving meaningful change wherever he goes.
