A Summer Escape to the Island Coast
Our return to the Isle of Wight this year brought a whole new wave of excitement. From the moment we set off, the day felt like a proper summer getaway, long-distance travel, great company, and a coastline waiting to be explored.
The journey began on the ferry, where calm waters and wide-open views made the crossing feel like part of the adventure itself. Once we stepped onto the island, we made our way to one of its most famous landmarks: The Needles. The lookout points were stunning, and the chairlift offered a sweeping view of the cliffs and sea that everyone loved.
Lunch was a classic seaside treat, crisp fish and chips or warm jacket potatoes, enjoyed outdoors with sunshine and plenty of chatter. The afternoon brought something special: private sessions in both glassmaking and sweet making. Watching skilled makers at work (and learning a few tricks ourselves) added a hands-on twist to the day.
From start to finish, the trip was filled with bright moments, shared laughter, and new memories. Another Isle of Wight adventure to treasure.
